These terms are between you and Frankly Built LLC, a Florida company (“we”, “us”), and cover your use of the Earn Your Screen app. By using the app, you agree to them. They’re written to be read, so here they are in plain English.
The app
Earn Your Screen is a parental control app. Kids earn screen time by doing missions a parent sets up; the parent approves them; and apps the parent picks on the kid’s device stay locked until the kid spends minutes they earned. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial use, on devices you own or control, with children you are the parent or guardian of (or have permission from their parent or guardian to supervise).
You agree to use the app only to supervise your own children’s devices, and never to monitor another adult or anyone without the right to do so.
If you got the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA, https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies. If you got it from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. If these terms and Apple’s Standard EULA disagree, the Standard EULA wins for App Store users.
What the lock can and can’t do
We work hard on the lock, but no screen time tool is foolproof. It depends on permissions the device’s operating system gives the app (Screen Time on iPhone and iPad; Usage Access and “Display over other apps” on Android). A determined kid may find ways around it, for example by turning a permission off (the app tells the parent phone when it notices this), force-stopping the app, or changing the device’s clock or settings. Phone calls, messages, maps and other apps you don’t pick stay available. Earn Your Screen helps with house rules; it isn’t a substitute for a grown-up’s supervision, and it isn’t a safety or emergency tool.
Free and Premium
Free covers 1 kid, up to 3 missions, the lock, earning and spending minutes, and approvals on the kid’s device with your parent PIN.
Premium adds unlimited kids and missions, approvals from your own phone, photo proof, savings goals and bonus minutes, and the weekly report. Premium bought on the parent phone turns on for your paired kid devices too. Premium is an auto-renewing subscription:
- Plans: $19.99 per year or $2.99 per month in the United States. Prices in other countries are set by the App Store or Google Play and shown before you buy.
- Free trial: new subscribers may get a 7-day free trial when the store offers it. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you’re charged for the plan you picked.
- Payment: charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase, or when the free trial ends.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Canceling: manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings or in Google Play > Payments and subscriptions, or tap Settings > Manage subscription in the app. Canceling stops the next renewal; Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for. When Premium ends, your family goes back to the free plan; nothing you made is deleted.
- Refunds: Apple and Google handle payments and refunds under their own policies. We can’t issue refunds for store purchases directly.
- Price changes: if the price ever changes, the store will tell you first as its rules require.
Your family’s information
The names, missions, photos and history you add are yours. How we handle them is explained in our Privacy Policy (https://franklybuilt.co/privacy/earn-your-screen). You’re responsible for what you and your family put in the app, and for keeping your parent PIN private.
The sync service
When devices are paired, they sync through our server. We aim to keep it running, but it may sometimes be slow, down for maintenance, or unavailable. The app keeps working on each device in the meantime and catches up when it can. We may change or stop the sync service; if we ever plan to stop it, we’ll tell you in the app ahead of time.
Things you agree not to do
Don’t use the app to watch or control anyone other than your own children as described above; copy, resell or redistribute the app; try to get around Premium; attack, overload or probe the sync server; or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows.
No warranty
We work hard on the app, but it’s provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise the lock will always work, or that the app will be uninterrupted or error free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Frankly Built LLC isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim about the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Changes and ending
We may update the app and these terms. If we make a significant change to these terms, we’ll update the effective date and, where it matters, tell you in the app. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it (and canceling any subscription in your store account). Start over on the parent phone erases your family’s data from our server.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
