Old Head vs. New Gen (“the app”) is made by Frankly Built LLC, a Florida company (“we,” “us”). This policy explains, in plain English, what happens to information when you use the app on iPhone or Android.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Everything you type or play is saved only on your phone. We never receive it.
- Purchases are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your payment details.
What the app saves on your phone
To work, the app saves these things in your phone’s local storage:
- Team names you choose (for example “Pops” and “The Kids”).
- Your settings (sound effects, haptics, number of words, chosen mode and packs).
- Game history for the Family Record: dates, team names, scores and which words were played.
- Family Inside Jokes cards you write (the word, its meaning, the wrong answers and an optional story).
- A list of recently played cards, so you don’t see the same words every game.
- Which packs and modes are unlocked on this phone.
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. We have no server that receives it, and the app contains no code that uploads it.
What leaves your phone
Only what you choose, and only through Apple or Google:
- Purchases and restores. When you buy a pack, tap Restore Purchases, or open the app, the app asks the App Store or Google Play which of our products your account owns. Apple or Google process the payment and keep the purchase record under their own privacy policies (Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy, Google: policies.google.com/privacy). We do not receive your name, email, Apple Account, Google account or payment information.
- Share card. If you tap Share, the app makes a picture of your results on your phone and opens your phone’s share sheet. Nothing is sent unless you pick an app or a person to send it to, and then it goes through that app, under its own terms.
- Save to Photos (iPhone). If you choose Save Image from the share sheet, iOS asks your permission to add the picture to your photo library. The app can only add that picture. It cannot see or read your photos.
- Links. The Privacy Policy and Terms of Use buttons open our website in your phone’s browser.
Phone backups
If you use your phone’s own backup (iCloud Backup on iPhone, Google backup on Android), your phone may include the app’s saved data in that backup. That backup belongs to your Apple or Google account and follows their terms. We do not have access to it.
What we do not do
- We do not collect personal information.
- We do not use advertising, advertising IDs, analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools.
- We do not sell or share data, because we do not have any.
- We do not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo library (other than adding a share card when you ask).
Children’s privacy
Old Head vs. New Gen is a family game, made for parents and grandparents to play together with their kids on the parent’s phone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app has no accounts, no chat and no online features, and nothing a player types leaves the phone. Family Inside Jokes cards pass an always-on family-friendly word filter and are never shared with other users.
If you believe a child has sent us personal information (for example by email), contact us and we will delete it.
Deleting your information
Because everything is stored on your phone, you are in control:
- Change team names any time in Settings.
- Delete Family Inside Jokes cards in the card editor.
- Uninstall the app to remove everything it saved on the phone. Your purchases stay with your App Store or Google Play account, and Restore Purchases brings them back.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this address. If a change ever means information leaves your phone, we will say so in the app before it happens.
